Project Administration may be performed by a Project Administration Service as shown in Figure 1, or a project manager, Figure 2, or team member, Figure 3, providing their own planning, tracking, and reporting PM tool support.
A Project Administration Service is almost always more efficient and economical than the project manager or team member performing their own project administration. This can be demonstrated using the PA Service Cost/Benefit Analysis worksheet described on the Summary of Benefits page.
For small project organizations an outside time shared PA Service is more cost effective, and is supported by PAI's "Project Administration Service for Project Organizations", offering number (1) on the PAI Services & Training page,
As the organization grows it becomes more economical to bring the service in-house. PAI's "Project Administration Training for Project Administration Service PA's" trains one or more project administrators to provide an in-house PA Service. See offering number (2) on the PAI Services & Training page.
For organizations that prefer the project manager provide their own project administration function as in Figure 2, or use a project participant to provide the project administration function on behalf of their project team as in Figure 3, PAI offers "Project Administration Training for Project Managers and team PA's", offering number (3) on the PAI Services & Training page.
To determine which implementation will be most cost effective for your company perform the PA Service Cost/Benefit Analysis on the Summary of Benefits page.
